Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK funds scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner. They also provide cancer information to the public.
If you've been diagnosed with cancer, or know someone who has, Cancer Research UK provide practical information on everything from symptoms and screening, to coping after treatment. On the Cancer Research website you can find information on the different types of cancer and treatments, along with guides on practical and emotional support. Topics include: managing symptoms and side effect, coping physically, mental health and cancer, money and travel.
Cancer Chat
It’s a worrying time for many people and Cancer Research UK want to be there for you whenever - and wherever - you need them. Cancer Chat is their fully moderated forum where you can talk to others affected by cancer, share experiences, and get support. Cancer Chat is free to join and available 24 hours a day.

Cancer Support UK
Cancer Support UK provides practical and emotional support to people living with cancer, both during and after the treatment period. They support people with all kinds of cancer across the UK. Their website has useful resources along with information and signposting.
Cancer Kits
Cancer Support UK offer Cancer Kits which include a range of practical items for adults and children currently undergoing cancer treatment.
Cancer Kits have been designed by people who have had cancer themselves, to provide practical and handy items that people will find genuinely useful during their treatment. The Cancer Kits include Chemo Kits and Kids’ Kits, which they supply free of charge to people living with cancer in the UK.
Cancer Coach
Cancer Support UK run Cancer Coach support groups which are available to anyone who has completed their physical cancer treatment and is experiencing low mood, anxiety and worry, and doesn’t know how to move forward in their recovery.
The course takes participants through a series of weekly facilitated group sessions, run for a six-week period over the telephone or online video. The sessions take participants through a series of strategies, techniques and exercises that aim to furnish them with the tools, support and coping strategies that can help them on their recovery journey.

Children with Cancer UK
Children with Cancer UK is a leading charity that supports families and funds research into childhood cancer.
Wellbeing and Support
Children with Cancer UK work in partnership with Spread a Smile (www.spreadasmile.org) to help improve the wellbeing of seriously ill and hospitalised children. They also work with the Beads of Courage UK Oncology Programme (www.beadsofcourageuk.org) to support families and help them navigate life through treatment and beyond. They also fund a wide range of projects such as financial hardship grants and free accommodation for families to stay in near to children’s hospitals across the country.
Precious Memories
Children with Cancer UK arrange days out designed to give families respite – a moment away from hospital to create lasting memories. Over 75,000 guests have joined them to date experiencing fun filled days, whilst creating special support networks with others going through similar experiences.

Macmillan Cancer Support
Macmillan provide services for people living with cancer at every stage of their cancer experience. They provide emotional, practical, physical, and financial support to everyone affected by cancer. Their services include:
Free Counselling
In partnership with Bupa, Macmillan offer up to 4 sessions of free one-on-one counselling to people living with cancer.
Macmillan Buddies
The free Macmillan Buddy service is here for you. This service matches you with someone who understands what you're going through and they'll give you a weekly telephone call, video call or visit in your home.
Macmillan Grants
Macmillan grants are small payments to help with the extra costs that living with cancer can bring.
Macmillan Will Writing Service
Macmillan offer a Free Will Service, where you can have your will written for free by one of their trusted will writing partners or solicitors.
The Macmillan Support Line offers free, confidential support to people living with cancer and their loved ones.

Alternatively, you can use their online chat to speak to an information and support advisor or cancer information nurse specialist.
Both the helpline and online chat run 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm.

Sam’s Diamonds
Sam’s Diamonds is a registered charity that provides a service for adults as they journey through any cancer treatment. The charity provides positive experiences, direction and opportunities with people who understand how you are feeling and who refuse to let cancer stop them in their tracks.
The aim to keep you actively involved in various activities, having fun, feeling supported and loving life. The charity offers:
Support Group
An all cancer inclusive support group in the Northwest of England, ran by Cancer survivors for Cancer survivors and developed by the needs of the group. They also run a private support group for all the partners of their Diamonds.
Sam's Diamonds for Men (new group)
Sam's diamonds will be providing a unique opportunity for individuals to come together, catch up, and discuss the triumphs and challenges they are facing in their lives. Men can register to be a diamond and take part in Retreats, Workshops, Peer support, Signposting, Crafts and Online support
The Man Shed Garden
Sam's Diamonds have teamed up with The Man Shed to transform an amazing community garden space! They use the garden to promote good mental health, and to host our Diamond meet ups and workshops.
24hr Social Media Support
The charity offer a private Facebook group to all our Diamonds offering 24 hour support and a safe place to ask questions.
Other services include: a regular book club, retreats, family days, Fitness plans, information and booklets, information on mobility equipment, training, wig fitting/styling and workshops.

The Brain Tumour Charity
Whether you’ve been diagnosed with a brain tumour, or it’s a family member or friend, the Brain Tumour Charity are here to help. Their brain tumour support covers a wide range of inclusive and accessible services for everyone affected by a brain tumour, whether it’s low or high grade, adult or child.

The Brain Tumour Charity is offering up to eight free counselling sessions to anyone diagnosed with a brain tumour or their loved ones. This is a remote service, offering free online counselling sessions via webcam, or over the telephone. Sessions take place Monday – Friday, between the hours of 9am – 5pm. The professional counsellors are not medical professionals, but are all appropriately qualified in counselling and have relevant experience and training to support those affected by a brain tumour diagnosis. The Brain Tumour Charity have a dedicated
Children and Families team who specialises in supporting children affected by a brain tumour diagnosis and their families. The
Young Adults team and Young Ambassadors provide services that focus on helping people aged 16-30 year thrive after being affected by a brain tumour diagnosis.
